There's been a lot of news and speculation on the Annapolis Summit. The media just seems to feed into the public's fears and concerns because it's good for their ratings. So, let's try to make sense of it all by allowing the Bible to be our guide through this maze of questions and uncertainty. What is really going on here? Is the U.S. on the brink of going to war with the G-d of Israel? Are we going to see Isaiah 28 fulfilled? How does all of this fit into the prophetic scenario of the Bible?
As you can see events like this sometimes cause more questions then answers, however, if we take a non-emotional approach to what's happening right now and allow the Bible to define the events of the day, then we won't fall prey to the enemies trap. That trap by the way was revealed to us ahead of time by our Lord in Luke 21. The trap is two fold, first it is fear and secondly it is worry. The Greek root word for expectation is prosdokavw it is a verb - an action word. Meaning that people or actively doing something and that something is defined by the following; to expect (whether in thought, in hope, or in fear) to look for, wait for...This word is only used 16 times in the King James version by the way and in each reference the meaning and the action remain constant. Hence, our Lord was giving this generation of believers the proverbial prophetic heads up, not to fear or to worry! This is born out in Luke 21:27-28 . If we are looking to HIM, Yeshua, then there is really no reason to fear or to worry - period. Okay, now let's answer the questions above.
This simple outline should really answer the above questions:
You might be saying to yourself, wow Stef that's awful simplistic. I know it might seem that way, but, when you boil it all down to it's most common elements by using the Bible, this is where we're at in history. We are at that place where the EU is giving birth to the "Revived Roman Empire" that the book of Daniel discusses in great detail. Once that fully happens, this will give birth to the Antichrist, which will create the platform for the Is. 28:15, which will bring in 3.5 years of unparallel peace and economic growth and the world will think the the Messiah has come and they will worship the Beast and his image found in Revelation and finally the shoe will drop and the Antichrist will lose control and all hell will break lose on earth as the last 3.5 years of the Tribulation bears down on the inhabitants of the earth. Just read Revelation chapter 16 to see the types of calamities that befall this planet and it's people within a short 3.5 year period. People right now are fearful and worried and nothing like Revelation 16 has happened. Now can you see why the Lord warned that some will die because of the fear from these things that are to come? The people of planet earth haven't seen anything yet.
Our Lord was careful in Luke 21:26 to attempt to direct our focus not on events as much on the emotional battle with fear and expectations of those things that are coming. In the face of global warming, impending asteroid strikes, unexplainable weather phenomena, imminent terrorist attacks, Iranian nuclear threats, a resurgent Marxist Russia, a ticking time bomb in the Middle East, the plummeting dollar, and looming worldwide economic collapse, it's easy to see how "men's hearts will fail them for fear...." Especially when our crazed media feeds us a constant diet of these woes by preying on our fears. The good news is that every bit of this scenario confirms the absolute accuracy and veracity of God's Word.
The Annapolis Summit is nothing more than man attempting to fix problems that only G-d can fix. A lasting peace will not come out of this summit, however, a declaration of war from the world to the G-d of Israel may be the only thing that comes out of this summit and that is what really concerns me. If the world declares war on G-d, knowingly or unknowingly, this is very bad news for the unbelieving members of our society. Ultimately, we know that the EU will broker the final "declaration of war," the False Peace Contract, but, it's unclear as to what will become of the United States. If I read my Bible correctly, the U.S. may be on a collision course with the G-d of Israel and in the end that can't be good for the U.S. and it's allies. The addiction we in the west in having to tell Israel how to run it's affairs will end up being our down fall.
The take away message here is that the Lord is in complete control and even the best and most knowledgeable forecaster of Biblical events at the end of the day, can only speculate on how all of this will pan out. This I know with 1000% certainty, Yeshua HaMashiach, knows how to protect and rescue His people from the darkness that will eventually descend on this planet. G-d knows how to deliver His loved ones from evil. Galatians 1:4
