The Simple Truth About The Resurrection
We hear a lot being said about the Resurrection of Yeshua this time of year. I've even heard about the computer models that can walk us through the double year Sabbath and all of that kind of thing. I've been rather frustrated this year over the Resurrection time frame. I'm not sure why I've been preoccupied with this - this year, accept to say I think the Holy Spirit wanted me to discuss it for some reason. I know the Resurrection couldn't be Sunday, the math just doesn't work. So here's what I did... I simply asked God to show me in the Bible how we can know when the Resurrection took place. And you know what, He showed me, so I've outlined it below. No computer models, nothing complicated, just the simple and pure Word of God and the Holy Spirits inspiration and the truth is so obvious a child can see it. I need to say, if you have been a subscriber for any length of time, you know that I like simple, simple works for me and the Lord talks to me that way, just the simple truth and the simple facts. First we have to outline the scripture references that the Lord will use to identify the facts on the ground as they happened. This is really fun as well so follow along. Bible Facts:
Tie it Together:
The Lord had to have died, based on just the simple Biblical facts, on Wednesday at 3 pm. No computers needed for this calculation. The Bible defines itself! Look at this:
In conclusion, our Messiah rose again on Sunday: Mark 16:9-10; When Yeshua rose early Sunday, he appeared first to Miryam of Magdala, from whom he had expelled seven demons. She went and told those who had been with him, as they were crying and mourning. (Complete Jewish Bible) Yeshua had to fulfill "in the heart of the earth" for a full 3 days. In other words, not 2.8 days, He had to fulfill a full 3 days and not 4 days. Mark 8:31 does indicate that the Resurrection would occur "after" 3 days. As I read through all the Gospels I found that the Lord did in fact rise on Sunday, that's what the Gospels tell us. This is my theory on this. The Lord completed 3 full days by 3pm on Saturday. He had to rise before 3pm on Sunday, this would satisfy the full 3 day and after scenario. Also, I believe there is huge significance for the resurrection to have happened on Sunday the first day of the week, making Yeshua the First Born From The Dead! If Yeshua would have Resurrected at midnight this would have made Him the "First Fruits to Rise From The Dead," (Colossians 1:13-23) and still within the 3 Day and before 4 Day window. The bible is clear that our Lord was not in the tomb on Sunday early morning. Don't forget Mark 8:31 uses the word "after" 3 days! Sunday Midnight would qualify for after 3 days... Could it be that on Sunday midnight the Messiah was taking His rightful place in Heaven and presenting Himself to the Father? Sunday, midnight, first day of the week, our Lord would have become the "First Born From The Dead," as Colossians 1:13-23 points out! Yeshua presented Himself to His followers, those whom He loved on Sunday morning! The significance of Mary Magdalene finding the tomb empty on Sunday at 6am and then a few hours later the Lord presenting Himself as the risen Messiah, shouldn't be overlooked. Mark 16:9-10 pinpoints the Sunday Resurrection! True to God's nature some things He chooses not to disclose to us because it just isn't for us to know. However, we can know the day of the Resurrection because of the facts the Holy Spirit intentionally left us with in the Biblical record. Because the Lord died at 3 pm according to the scripture and because Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the Lord on Sunday morning and He was missing (rose from the dead), we now know the Resurrection of Yeshua happened on Sunday morning. This we know as fact, the Lord could not have gone to the cross on Friday, mathematically impossible! For me, I like the thought that our Lord rose from the dead at midnight on Sunday and did become the "First Born From The Dead!" Footnote: Easter to the dismay of many is not a Biblical day to celebrate, nor is it mentioned anywhere in the Bible. To get more information on Easter read the references below: http://www.allaboutjesuschrist.org/origin-of-easter.htm | http://www.gotquestions.org/easter-origins.html Why is it important to test all things against scripture? God doesn't want you and me following men to the extent that we allow them to interpret the bible for us. God wants His people reading His word, for themselves, and seek Him and His Spirit for the answers. Man always seems to make laws, times and seasons fit his own purposes at the expense of alienating God and His plan. The day is coming when God will rule and reign upon this earth and we all will follow His plan, His ideal for all of us! Should you celebrate Easter? That's a question I think you need to settle between you and the Lord. God Bless you all and I pray you'll seek the Lord as to what is right for you and your families. I've had a lot fun walking through this study with you! If we don't meet again here, I'll see you in the air and in Heaven... Until Next Time Lord Willing, Bro Stef John 14:27; Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. Romans 10:8-11: "The word is near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is LORD," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved. As the Scripture says, "Anyone who trusts in Him will never be put to shame." (NIV)
Because, in truth, because they have misled my people, saying, "Peace," when there is no peace; and because, when the people build a wall, these prophets smear whitewash on it. Say to those who smear whitewash on it that it shall fall. (Ezekiel 13:1-16 / NRSV) Thank you for being a valued subscriber...Share our reports with a friend. For out of Zion the law shall go forth, And the word of the Lord from Jerusalem. - Mic 4:2 "If I forget thee, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget her cunning. If I do not remember thee, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy." Psalm 137:5,6
